Liberty Grand Toronto Wedding
Recently, Canada-based luxury wedding photography duo Alecia Patrick had the honor of capturing a magnificent cultural celebration at Liberty Grand Toronto. Hosting a large gathering of 350 esteemed guests, the event brought together the German Jewish family of the bride, Michelle, and the Russian Jewish family of the groom, Aaron. Photographer Alecia Asselin reflects, "from the solemn signing of the ketubah and the reverent blessings bestowed by the grandmothers, to the jubilant breaking of the glass beneath the chuppah, every moment was infused with meaning.” The hora dance was a spirited affair and the money dance allowed everyone to contribute to the couple’s future.
The historic splendor of Liberty Grand Toronto, renowned as one of the city's premier traditional ballrooms, provided the perfect backdrop for the momentous occasion. With a capacity to accommodate up to 3,000 guests, the venue seamlessly blends old-world opulence with contemporary sophistication, and Michelle and Aaron used the space to make their guests feel relaxed and comfortable. Their ceremony unfolded in the sun-drenched courtyard, imbued with a sense of timeless elegance, while the ensuing reception unfolded within the venue's stately confines, replete with modern amenities and luxuries.
Adding to the atmosphere of the occasion were innovative touches with a contemporary flair. A grandmother took over the role of “flower girl” and their first dance choreographed to show off the couple’s light-up sneakers. Alecia recounts, "What truly elevated this wedding was the deep-rooted connection between Michelle and Aaron. Long-time friends, they had been on separate romantic paths before finding their way back to each other during the isolation of Covid, and one year later Aaron proposed and got a resounding “yes”.
The sheer joy and energy of the day is evident in every photograph, and both the couple and the photographer's credit the wedding planner, Fab Fete Planning, for seamlessly taking care of all the logistics so that Michelle and Aaron were free to simply enjoy the day and connect with their guests.
Michelle and Aaron had this to say about both of the photographers at Alecia Patrick. “They were excellent at making everyone in the wedding party feel comfortable, at ease, and respected. And the photos looked natural, not stiff. We absolutely fell in love with our photos and are so grateful for the authenticity and how artistic some of the shots are.”
