Ruby and Brian’s Lattice House wedding in Uvita, Costa Rica, was full of joy, bright colors and blissful emotion. It rained and poured all day and not one drop stopped the couple from having the time of their lives. In fact, if the superstition that rain on a wedding day is lucky, they were truly blessed by nature.

The couple chose Uvita de Osa for their celebration, a breathtaking waterfront village with a two mile beach and a sandbar that looks like a whale’s tail jutting out over the ocean. The place is known for its surfing, snorkeling and wildlife, and renowned for its annual music festival. Their venue, the Lattice House, is a beautifully designed and appointed luxury vacation villa on a private reserve with orchards, waterfalls, jungle trails, and landscaped gardens. And the venue has a huge covered balcony and walls that open to the view that makes everyone feel like they're outdoors–minus the rain.

Before the ceremony, Brian and his sister received pre-ceremony gifts and pins with pictures of their parents who had passed away and everyone’s heart was open. Then, Ruby and Brian,  along with their family and guests braved the elements and seized the day. There were plenty of umbrellas with smiling faces under them, and lots of moments of laughter and sweetness. 

Cocktail hour and dinner took place on the sides of the infinity pool and the decor was beautifully Costa Rican. Tropical flowers lined the wooden tables, the chairs were wicker, and the woven lanterns shone golden over the scene, making this a classic Lattice House wedding. 

To elevate the party feel, Ruby and Brian choreographed their first dance and guests joined in the revelry right after. The night unfolded with dancing, connected conversation and celebration.

The next day, leading Costa Rica wedding photographer Kevin Heslin continued his weekend coverage by taking the couple on a journey to Nauyaca, one of the most breathtaking waterfalls in all of Central America. The couple felt relaxed in front of his camera throughout, and it shows in their beautifully captured photographs.
