Leading wedding photography team Erika and Lanny Mann, of Two Mann Studios, is known for their out-of-the-box perspectives and extraordinary skills, and they brought them all to bear for Sahithi and Kedar’s wedding at the Jumeirah Gulf of Bahrain Resort. Nestled on the pristine beaches of Bahrain’s West coast, the resort is a world-class luxury wedding venue that’s renowned for its tranquility and serenity. However, this 4-day blowout bash in Bahrain was anything but—in the best way—according to the photographers.

“Sahithi and Kedar’s wedding was legitimately off the hook,” say Erika & Lanny. And the Jumeirah Gulf of Bahrain Resort provided the ultimate backdrop for a long weekend of beautiful chaos and celebration. 87,543 photos later, the duo says they “came home with a new benchmark of what it means to ‘work a wedding.’ ”

A totally opulent event from start to finish, there were bartenders from Turkey, a festival band from Paris, and an elaborate firework show along with exquisite meals and meaningful rituals each and every day. It took an entire construction team six weeks to build the one-of-a-kind mandap structure with its soaring pillars on this remote island along with the seating and dance floor for hundreds of guests.

To extend the entertainment, the couple booked a troupe of fire dancers and whirling dervishes, and hired two world-class wedding planning teams to manage every detail. They took over when a tropical sandstorm violently kicked up during the ceremony and the couple remained unfazed. While the Mandap shook, hordes of guests packed shoulder to shoulder with their cell phone cameras at the ready, and the Mann’s just kept shooting as Sahithi and Kedar carried on without missing a beat. “They were the eye of the storm,” Erika describes, “and we got to photograph it. Eyes stinging, hair whipping, thighs burning, forearms cramping, we witnessed the beauty within the chaos.”

And that’s exactly what Erika and Lanny thrive on: “We find reality much more interesting than anything we can make up. We are constantly striving to document reality over fantasy, messy over perfect, unscripted over fabricated and beautiful over pretty.” This wedding extravaganza delivered that and more!
