Cancun-based wedding photographer Maureen De Vries of M.E. Photo & Films describes this wedding she and co-owner and lead videographer Edgar Lara covered at the Dreams Natura Resort & Spa in two words: “classic elegance.” With gorgeous gold lighting and a profusion of white heirloom rose bouquets and floral designs it looked stunning against the blue backdrop of the Caribbean.

The Dreams Natura Resort & Spa features a powdery white sand beach and offers mesmerizing ocean views, making it a magical location for a wedding. De Vries says that “within the gorgeous setting, we stayed focused on capturing the details and moments of the wedding in a way that would keep the couple Katherine and Kleber’s theme in place. The bride’s getting ready/hair/makeup gave us ‘Old Hollywood’ vibes, so we stuck with the classic elegance she was looking for.”

It didn’t hurt that Katherine and Kleber were very easygoing and open to suggestions, which has to be every wedding photographer’s dream scenario. “The sky offered us some amazing colors to work with during the couple portraits,” says De Vries. “One of our favorite moments was when the groom asked us, “So how does it work at the reception? What will you do when the party starts?” We replied, “Oh, don’t you worry; you’ll find us right in the middle of the action taking photos and videos and dancing right along with you.”

As the sun was setting quickly, the photo duo had limited time on the deck, so their second photographer and videographer went ahead to the cocktail and ceremony to capture all the details. “We stayed with the bride and groom to capture the moments of just the two of them,” De Vries explains. What followed were images that truly captured the emotions of the day, with the couple as well as friends and family simply enjoying the beauty of the Dreams Natura Resort & Spa and the couple’s extraordinary hospitality.
