Quinta da Eira Wedding, Portugal
Luis and Fabiana’s Quinta da Eira Wedding, Penafiel, Portugal
Fabiana and Luis met in college and got engaged on their first trip to Sardinia, in the mountains near the Gulf of Orosei. When they married, they had been together for many years and already had a shared community and a family that included Raven, their long-haired German shepherd, and Iker, their bay horse.
The planning process was a breeze for them. They fell in love with the idea of a Quinta da Eira wedding as soon as they found the venue and every supplier they chose after that felt like the natural choice.
The bride says” Quinta da Eira is a rustic and beautiful location in Penafiel, Portugal. It's a very large versatile space, which helped make our wedding day unique. We were able to choose different areas to hold the civil ceremony, the cocktail party, the meals, and even the cutting of the cake so guests never felt hemmed in and that was just what we wanted.
The wedding was centered on themes that are near and dear to the couple. Their chairs for the civil ceremony were decorated with painted flags representing The Heart and The Brain, which they recognize as symbols of their different personalities and the way they interact with each other. The dining room was decorated with table settings that celebrated the different places they had visited together in Italy, and each guest was challenged to guess the name of the place from the photos that they shared. Fabiana and Luis entered the hall to the entrance music of the Chicago Bulls, because they both enjoy basketball and they filled the rest of the night with details that felt special and magical to them.
When asked if they could change anything about their day, the couple had this to say. “ “Our day was simply perfect. We loved every moment and the fact that we were able to share it with the people closest to us. We wish we could relive it all over again. Our honeymoon was also amazing. We took a road trip through Australia from Sydney to Cairns, and we had three weeks of adventure with boat trips, beaches, and close contact with many animals we had never seen before. Australia is a phenomenal country with so much to see and do and we certainly want to visit again in the future. We recommend it 100 percent.”
