Antonio and Giovanna, two kindred souls united by a passion for photography, chose Italian photographer Michel Abriola to capture their Hotel Scrajo Terme wedding in Vico Equense, Italy. A breathtaking destination wedding venue situated along the Sorrento Coast in Castellammare di Stabia, Italy, the hotel is nestled between the shimmering Gulf of Naples and the lush greenery of the coastline. Just a stone's throw from the Amalfi Coast, with breathtaking views of the water, it’s an ideal spot for guests from Italy and around the world to enjoy.

Bride, Giovanna, is an adventurous and curious spirit who loves photography as much as she loves exploring new horizons and discovering different cultures, while Antonio loves to capture emotions through black and white documentary photography. Given their love for the art form, they carefully selected their photographer to match their wedding style and personal aesthetics. 

“Documenting this event felt like returning to the roots of my photography,” says wedding photographer Michele Abriola, “partly on tiptoe, partly as a spectator, and partly as a director, through an approach that I love to define as musical. It was an unforgettable blend of simple style, shared values, and rooted traditions, creating an event that will remain forever etched in the memories of those who experienced it.”

 

The couple met in 2021 after Giovanna received a photo book of Antonio’s as a gift from a mutual friend. The book was full of stunning photos of Africa and it sparked the beginning of their love story and created a bond fueled by their shared passion for taking pictures.

A few months after their first meeting, Antonio and Giovanna decided to take a vacation to Amalfi Coast. Enthralled by the setting on the deep blue sea with golden sunsets, the days they spent there made them realize they were destined to never part. “Every moment of that vacation seemed orchestrated by fate," the couple told Abriola, “the walks along the cliffs, the candlelit dinners with a view of the infinite horizon, and  laughter and conversations that stretched late into the night made it clear what we felt in our hearts”.

When it came time to choose the location for their wedding, they had no doubts that they would return to where they first fell in love, and when they found their venue they began planning for an unforgettable Hotel Scrajo Terme wedding.

Starting on a cloudy day, the weather turned to rain, and both Abriola and the couple saw it as unexpected and welcome. A surprise component, they all felt it added a touch of magic, transforming the wedding into an even more extraordinary experience. Abriola says “The delicate raindrops falling from the sky created moments of unexpected poetry, framing the couple in a romantic light”.
